About
Brian Redfern is a Chicago based scenic designer with 20+ years of experience creating exciting and thoughtful settings for the stage. His work centers on the belief that environments can shape how we behave, think, and interact with others, and design for theatre should have that same impact upon an audience. Scenery should be visually poetic and the vehicle to transport viewers into the world of the play. It is the character onstage that may not have any lines, but speaks volumes.
Over the past two decades, Brian has designed the scenery for more than 120 theatrical productions with budgets and venues of all sizes. He prides himself on bold visual storytelling, innovative problem solving, and imaginative collaboration.
